Stroll out of your ocean-view suite, head down our pathway and enjoy our beautiful and secluded beach. When the tide is out in the summer play in the sandbars, watch the eagles soar and enjoy a swim in the Pacific Ocean. You can walk along our beach about one mile to the village of Sechelt and explore quaint shops, restaurants, Shopping Centers and much more or head the other way to Davis Bay Beach.
Davis Bay Beach
This is one of the most popular tourist spots on the entire Sunshine Coast. From Beach Hideaway, it is about a mile and a half walk along the beach or a five-minute drive. During your stroll, breathtaking scenery and wildlife, unique to the West Coast of BC will surround you. Take your time and beach comb, your guaranteed to find lots of neat treasures along the way. Hang out on the sandy beach for awhile or check out the quaint shops and restaurants across the street from the beach. You may want to head to Pier 17, where you’ll find Groceries, reading, Internet and great coffee. At The Wobbly Canoe you can sit out on the patio and enjoy Fish & Chips along with a cold drink. If antiques are more your style mosey on into the Mosaic Market. Take in the beautiful scenery, collect shells, stroll, and suntan, jump the waves or play in the sand during your stay at Beach Hideaway.

Hiking the Sunshine Coast:
There are endless hikes to enjoy on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. A premiere attraction on the Sunshine Coast is the “Skookumchuck Narrows”. Take the 4km hike and see dramatic rapids in a setting like no other. Another must see is the Caren Range, which is known as the oldest growth forest in Canada. The Sunshine Coast Trail is a 180 kilometre trail that stretches from Sarah Point in Desolation Sound to Saltery Bay. Sunshine Coast Provincial Parks:
Porpoise Bay Beach is about a ten-minute drive from Beach Hideaway. This park is located at the southern end of Sechelt inlet in a forest of Douglas fir, western red cedar, western hemlock, maple and alder. It has lovely walking trails, a picnic area and a sandy beach for your enjoyment. Sergeant Bay Provincial Park is north of Sechelt and has trails, beaches and picnicking areas. The surrounding waters are perfect for canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving and fishing. It also has a boat-launching ramp.
